Chocolate, Rum and Pear Self-Saucing Pudding.
A rich bake perfect for a family gathering. This is a chocolate sponge pudding topped with pear halves with a rum and chocolate sauce.
As a self-saucing pudding goes, it was great as it produced a lovely thick, glossy chocolatey sauce (ignoring the bit that is on the bottom of my oven!). The pears added a sweetness to a dark chocolate sponge and the rum gave it just enough of a kick to bring out the flavours. It is deliciously indulgent.
