Malted Milk Pain au Lait



This is my version of the French bread, pain au lait. They are a milk roll with the unusual addition of malted milk powder.

The little rolls are light, well baked and have a soft, moist texture. The high quantity of milk and addition of malt powder gives them a lovely creamy flavour and make them taste great. I am very happy with how they look, with the slashing working properly for once. There is a first for everything!
