Poppyseed and Cream Cheese Plait



This is a vanilla flavoured plaited bread containing poppyseeds, and filled in the centre with a cream cheese mixture. It is glazed with apricot jam and drizzled with water icing.

This bake wasn't without a hitch, with the problem I came across being a very runny cream cheese mix. It seems I possibly added a little too much egg yolk, although once baked it had a wonderfully smooth consistency and set just right. I think I maybe ought to have just made less mixture and not tried to pile it all in to start with! Other than the quick removal of some of the cream cheese from the rolled out dough, it was all great and tastes delicious, with a lovely soft and light textured dough.
