Florentine Biscuit Bar



This is a Christmas take on a childhood favourite bake, chocolate biscuit bar. It is a fridge cake made with homebaked digestive biscuits, broken florentine pieces, flaked almonds, glace cherries and mixed peel, all bound together with a chocolate mix.

A huge amount of nostalgia came with this bake. It used to be simple, yet I have taken it and made it my own. The florentine pieces give a caramel flavour that cuts through the dark chocolate, and the almonds add an extra crunch. I think this might rival the classic I remember from my younger years.
