Gingerbread House Advent Calendar

I'm not one for sticking to tradition, so instead of a chocolate advent calendar I now have a gingerbread house with a ginger biscuit for every day of December.

This wasn't the plan for this bake when I wrote the recipe, but I thought just making a gingerbread house was boring, plus my decorating skills leave a little to be desired so at least by making it into something quirky the attention goes away from my imperfect icing. This took a little perseverance to get it to stand up, and rather a lot of patience. But I am absolutely over the moon with the end result. I just hope it lasts until Christmas!
