Orange and Passionfruit Viennese Whirls
I have been inspired by the sunshine and baked some viennese whirls flavoured with orange zest and passionfruit, filled with a passionfruit buttercream.
The biscuit melts in your mouth, is buttery and crumbly, with a great kick from the orange. The two fruits marry wonderfully to produce a sweet taste. The buttercream is light and soft and is the perfect filling for the whirls. I am very happy with how these turned out. There is only one thing needed to be improved, and that is my ability to produce a dough that will pipe well on the first attempt as opposed to spending ages softening it down!
