Whisky Fruit Singing Hinnys
In honour of my holiday in Northumberland I have made some singing hinnys. My version is close to the traditional recipe but features sultanas and raisins soaked in some alcohol from just over the border, Scottish whisky.
The cakes are soft and similar to scones in texture. The flavour of the whisky is strong and adds a punch. I would perhaps add a teaspoon or so of sugar another time but other than that they are delicious.
