Cream Pie Doughnuts



These are some vanilla doughnuts filled with a vanilla custard and drizzled with dark chocolate.

The dough itself has a lovely texture although was a little underproved as it cracked slightly on the base when frying. I'm not sure if they needed one minute longer frying, or I should have waited a bit more before filling as the inside seems slightly doughy (I think it may have been the creation of the hole that did this). The flavour of the custard is just right due to the use of custard powder, and the dark chocolate contrasts this wonderfully. A little more patience and they would have been perfect.
