Bonfire Night Sausage Rolls
I have been doing some bonfire night themed baking. These are some sausage rolls made of flaky pastry sprinkled with sesame seeds, enclosing a pork loin and smoked bacon filling flavoured with garlic, oregano and paprika topping some sticky onions.
The pastry was wonderfully crisp, light and well flaked. The flavour of the filling is smoky and delicious, with a good strong paprika taste. The onions add an extra that makes them reminiscent of hot dogs served around the bonfire. They are fantastic.
