Garlic, Basil and Prosciutto Baked Doughnuts
I have made some baked doughnuts flavoured with garlic, basil and pieces of torn prosciutto.
This was an interesting bake as it proved the importance of sugar in a recipe. The doughnuts rose wonderfully but didn't spread well or brown as they were completely savoury and sugar free. They are, however, delicious with a lovely herby flavour. If I knew it wouldn't fill the gaps that I left in the tin well I would have piped the batter into the doughnut tin. But, other than this they are great.
