Lemon and Pecan Macaron a l'Ancienne



These macarons are a traditional french biscuit more closely related to the English macaroon than the much loved macarons usually seen. I have made my biscuits with ground pecans and almonds and filled them with lemon curd.

The biscuits are crisp and crunchy with a slightly chewy centre, the perfect combination of textures. The lemon filling is tangy and tastes delicious in contrast to the earthy pecans. These are heaven.
