Honey and Poppyseed Poppy Biscuits

It is only right to bake some poppy themed biscuits for Remembrance Sunday. These biscuits are flavoured with honey and poppyseeds and decorated with a simple water icing.

The biscuits, when baked, resembled a previous biscuit disaster. They spread a little too much on the tray due to the high quantity of butter and sugar and lack of egg to bind the dough. However, with a bit of playing once I removed them from the oven the shape ended up just right. The icing decoration is simple yet effective and is perfect for the occasion.
