Pistachio and Saffron Financiers
I have been baking an Indian inspired cake. They are some financiers made with ground pistachio and almonds, made with saffron flavoured browned butter, brushed with honey and sprinkled with toasted chopped pistachios.
The cake is full of saffron flavour, sweetened with a dash of honey. The pistachios compliment it perfectly, and the extra crunch on top is very welcome. They are a sweet luxurious treat.
