Black Pepper and Rhubarb Macarons




It is almost Mother's Day so it must be time for some macarons. These are flavoured with black peppercorns and filled with pink rhubarb jam.

The shell itself is far more successful than my previous attempt. Clearly I have worked out my oven a little better. A couple featured tiny cracks and the feet weren't quite perfect, but that is just being fussy I guess. The jam was a little less viscous than I would have liked as it has been in my fridge for a few weeks, but the flavour is lovely and it all comes together well.
