Sweet Plum Muscovado Bread
This is a buttery sweet dough loaf flavoured with light muscovado sugar and topped with plum slices, light muscovado sugar and flaked almonds. It is all glazed with apricot jam.
The bread is soft, perfectly risen, well baked and have a lovely flavour and texture. It is one of the best loaves I have made. The plums are slightly sour on their own but their flavour is brought out by the sugar. It has a slightly toffee-like taste and is fantastic. If I knew it was going to rise so well it would have more plum slices on it!
