Pear and Pecan Plate Pie
This is a pie to celebrate the end of pie week. It is a pecan and nutmeg shortcrust pastry with a vanilla caramelised pear filling.
The pastry is short and crisp, and the pecan flavour comes through gently. The nutmeg needs a little boost to bring it out, however the caramelised pears are sweet and delicious. A little more flavour on all parts would elevate it to perfect. Nonetheless, is was a great dessert with a big dollop of custard!
