Mocha Funnel Cakes
This is a dessert easy to bake for your Valentine's Day. They are funnel cakes, which are basically fried batter, and is drizzled with mocha sauce and dusted with icing sugar.
The batter is crisp and light, with a very naughty fried flavour. The chocolate sauce is rich and indulgent with a subtle kick of coffee that adds a great depth of taste. This wasn't without a hitch as I have never used a pan of oil on my hob before. I normally use my deep fat fryer which regulated its temperature itself. I'm not sure how to overcome this issue with a pan, but if I need to do it again then I shall have to work it out!
