Mushroom and Parmesan Kites
These puff pastry treats are the second of the savouries baked for lunch at Ascot. They are some puff pastry kites filled with a mixture of mushrooms, shallot and parmesan cheese, flavoured with a little garlic and dried parsley.
I am very happy with how these turned out. I think the choice to make them as kites was spot on as the shape held the filling wonderfully. They are baked to crisp, yet light and flaky, and taste delicious, with a very savoury taste of mushroom and parmesan.
