Chocolate Viennese Fingers

These are another afternoon tea bake. They are some Viennese biscuit fingers filled with a dark chocolate buttercream and drizzled with chocolate.

The biscuits are rich and buttery with a crumbly melt in the mouth texture. They didn't hold their shape in baking as much as I would have liked as I didn't chill them for very long before putting them in the oven but still look very elegant. I had a few issues filling them with buttercream as after piping it on one half I managed to break a few of the biscuits in half when pressing the top on. It's a good job I made plenty! The chocolate filling is dark and indulgent and contrasts the delicate biscuit perfectly.
