Grapefruit Iced Buns

I would say one of my favourite childhood treats was a simple iced bun. My version are round instead of fingers, flavoured with grapefruit zest and topped with grapefruit icing.

The dough rose and was baked perfectly with an even crumb and soft texture. The grapefruit flavour adds a subtle citrus hint to an otherwise plain bun and makes for a more grown up version of my childhood favourite.
