Black Forest Charlotte Russe

There is only one person that can bake a cake for my birthday (me). I have baked a cross between a black forest gateau and a charlotte russe. It features three chocolate sponge cake layers sandwiched with whipped cream and the bottom layer filled with cherries in kirsch syrup. It is topped with whipped cream, coated in chocolate sponge fingers and decorated with chocolate dipped cherries.

I don't really know what else to say other than that this is absolute heaven and I have definitely treated myself for my birthday perfectly. All it needs is some candles to blow out and someone to sing.
