Strawberry Almond Opera Cake




Today I embarked on a proper baking challenge to test the skills I am learning. I made an Opera Cake comprised of thin layers of almond flavoured joconde sponge soaked in strawberry syrup, a creme au berre, strawberry jam and tempered chocolate decoration.

I have to say I am very proud of what I achieved today. The entirety of the bake was home baked, including the jam and syrup. I think my skills of both decorating and baking are coming along nicely and it tasted incredible.
