Flapjacks



Flapjack is one of those quick and easy baking favourites. Adding a dash of alcohol to the classic mixture gives it that little something extra, making it even more moreish and delicious.

Recipe - Makes 9 squares
  • 60g butter
  • 60g demerara sugar
  • 25g golden syrup
  • 1 tbsp whisky
  • 100g oats
Line a 6 inch square traybake tin with baking paper and set aside. Preheat the oven to 180C.

Combine the butter, sugar and syrup in a pan over a medium heat and stir to melted. Add the whisky then tip in the oats. Mix well and pour into the lined tin. Bake for 15 minutes or until browning round the edges.

Remove from the oven and leave the flapjack in the tin to cool for 5 minutes before cutting into 9 pieces. Lift onto a wire rack and leave to cool, then break up.
